Certifications
Timber Products Company is proud of its various certifications
from different forest certification programs. These programs
establish measurable requirements by which the forest ecosystem
must be managed. After a third-party auditor verifies a
landowner is in compliance with these requirements, the
landowner may use that program label.
Sustainable Forestry
Initiative® (SFI)
This program is a combination of forestry and conservation that
assures our industry of a continuous supply of raw materials
for our high-quality wood products while also ensuring abundant
and healthy forests for future generations.
Timber Products Company has been audited and certified by
PricewaterhouseCoopers as being in full compliance with SFI.
This means that our operations comply with:
- Sustained yield forestry
- Ecosystem management
- Protection of wildlife, plants and soil
- Meeting air and water quality standards
- Meeting many other performance standards such as canopy preservation, maintaining scenic vistas, and proper setbacks from streams and other sensitive areas

Forest Stewardship Council
(FSC)
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an international
organization that brings people and companies together to find
solutions that promote responsible stewardship of the
world’s forests. There are two types of FSC
certifications available from certification bodies: Forestry
Management and Chain-of-Custody (CoC).
Timber Products Company has received CoC certification, which
guarantees the production of FSC-certified products. From a
customer perspective, the FSC label represents a promise that
is being made to them. Chain-of-Custody standards are the
mechanism FSC has to ensure that promise is delivered.
